Cesium tungsten oxide nano powder may be applied for producing a type of transparent thermal insulation paper - thermal insulation film. First, we should know how the nano cesium tungsten oxide powder is prepared? Some experts used sodium tungstate and barium carbonate as raw materials, D-malic acid as reducing agent, raw material Cs/W ratio of 0.5, and hydrothermal reaction at 175°C for 72h, successfully synthesized rod-shaped Cs0.32WO3 nanoparticles with excellent near-infrared absorption properties. And they found that the improvement of the near-infrared absorption capacity of the obtained Cs0.32WO3 nanoparticles is related to an increase in crystallinity, generation of a rod-like structure, and an increase in free carrier concentration.
The experts also prepared transparent heat insulating glass using these synthetic rod-shaped Cs0.32WO3 nanopowders, and found that these glasses maintained a high visible light transmittance of 76%, while the near-infrared light transmittance decreased to 10.5%. That is to say, Cs0.32WO3 nanopowder exhibits excellent optical selective permeability and near-infrared shielding properties, so that it is expected to be applied on architectural glass.
