Blue nano tungsten oxide may be applied for producing transparent thermal insulation film, which has a potential application with the development of preparing technology of thermal insulation film of blue tungsten oxide. So, some searchers observed the morphology of blue tungsten oxide grain by transmission electron microscopy. The following is the method for observing the morphology of powder crystals by directly cutting a film for transmission electron microscopy from micron-sized particles. The specific sample preparation steps are as follows:
Step one: First, the particle sample is placed in a single layer in metallic copper. The single layer is mainly set to improve the efficiency of film making, and the reference coordinates are also selected for the film taking portion.
Step two: After blue tungsten oxide powder sample particles are firmly embedded in the metal copper, the two sides of the single layer sample are thinned by mechanical thinning until the thinned particle layer can be observed on both the front and the back.
Step three: Directly cut some crude film from the particle layer, and finally reduce the film to the nanometer order level for TEM study by ion thinner.
