Dark blue nano tungsten oxide may be applied for preparing transparent thermal insulation film. And such heat-insulating film is more and more popular as nano grain size blue tungsten oxide has the characteristics of good ultraviolet blocking performance, near-infrared blocking effect and good visible light transmittance. Therefore, some scholars have observed the blue tungsten oxide powder by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy to observe the microstructure of the blue tungsten oxide crystal.
From the observation results of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, the lattice fringes of the two sides of blue tungsten oxide powder with a spacing of 0.2nm can be observed. After analysis and comparison with the transmission electron micrograph, it is found that these crystallites grow into single crystals and grow up independently. The polycrystalline particles are formed, and the polycrystalline particles are further composed of blue tungsten oxide agglomerates. There are many voids between the crystallites, and therefore, blue tungsten oxide particles are loose and porous.
