It is reported that these companies are mainly from several companies in the United States, France, Germany, Sweden and Japan. For example, with the support of the US Department of Energy, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has conducted field tests on large-area (>1.0m×1.0m) electrochromic glass technology for the needs of building energy conservation since the late 1990s. The test results show that the application of electrochromic glass can save 75% of commercial building lighting peaks and 25% of air conditioning peaks. Assuming that more than 80% of buildings in the United States use such smart glass, they can save 5% of electricity per year, or 160GW.
