The working principle of electrochromic device: The electrochromic device works by applying a certain voltage between two conductive layers, and electrons and ions in the electrolyte are simultaneously injected into the electrochromic layer (i.e., the tungsten trioxide film layer) due to the applied voltage, and it is colored by an electrochemical reaction of redox, and the ion storage layer dings to store the corresponding counter ions in the oxidation-reduction reaction of the tungsten trioxide electrochromic film, thereby maintaining the charge balance of the entire system. When a reverse voltage is applied, electrons and ions are detached from the colored tungsten trioxide electrochromic film to cause bleaching.
