Tungsten oxide nanoparticles for infrared thermal insulation nano material can be prepared by a solvothermal method. Specifically, some experts adopted a solvothermal method to obtain tungsten oxide nanoparticles using ethanol as an alcohol solvent. Wherein, a molar concentration of tungsten chloride in ethanol is 15mM, a reaction temperature is 180°C, and a reaction time is 12h, 24h, and 30h, respectively. And the effect of reaction time on the morphology of the product was investigated. The figure below shows the SEM of tungsten oxide nano particles at different times using ethanol as alcohol solvent.

It can be seen from the figure that when the reaction time is 12h, the reaction product is basically nanosphere particles with a particle diameter of 500nm-1μm. The surface of most of the spherical particles is relatively smooth, and the number of burr-like nanosphere particles is significantly reduced. When the temperature is further increased to 24h, the synthesized tungsten oxide nano particles are basically nanospheres with a particle size of about 1μm, and some small protrusions appear on the surface, which is presumed to be the growth of small particles on the surface of the nanosphere. As the reaction time prolongs, the particle size of the tungsten oxide nanosphere particles becomes larger and larger. And when the reaction time is longer than 30h, the number of protrusions around the sphere increases, and as the reaction time prolongs, small massive particles appear around the nanosphere particles.
