In the past few years, some experts have used a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) gel electrolyte to prepare a complementary electrochromic window of tungsten trioxide and Prussian blue, which has good electrochromism and memory properties. From the photoelectron spectroscopy analysis, W4+ and W5+ and W6+ coexist in the tungsten bronze type compound. Experts also introduced that PMMA is a readily available and inexpensive material, the preparation method of PMMA-based gel electrolyte is simple, and the room temperature ionic conductivity is high. Therefore, polymethyl methacrylate gel electrolyte can be expected to be widely used in the production of smart window.
