Tungsten trioxide electrochromic film is a new energy-saving material, which can also be said to be a new type of smart material. Such energy-saving film can be used for performances of high heat insulation, UV resistance and anti-glare. Therefore, the WO3 electrochromic film is more and more widely used in the fields of architecture, cars and airplanes. So, how can the tungsten trioxide electrochromic thin film be prepared?

According to experts, the anode can be a platinum plate and the cathode is a quartz conductive glass. And the tungsten trioxide thin film can be prepared by constant current electrolysis (current density of 200μA/cm2) in a 0.5mol/L sodium tungstate solution (pH=2) at room temperature. The tungsten trioxide smart film prepared by electrolysis can be first dried under an infrared lamp and then thermostated at 350°C for 1h. In accordance with the X-ray diffraction analysis, the tungsten oxide electrochromic film is an amorphous material.
